Nice parts of Essex?

Can anyone suggest some nice parts of essex to live no more than an hours drive from dagenham. we have looked at chelmsford but the houses all just seem a bit run down and tired looking to me, although the town centre is not bad. sorry should have said budget of 235k or under.

  • Billericay, Shenfield and Wickford arent too bad. Why does it have to be within an hour of Dagenham?

    hi,
it really depends what you are after(flat or house),an hour from dagenham really takes you down to shoeburyness, southend, wakering, rochford, hockley ect.
If you like to be a bit in the country, look at great wakering(dry part of the uk)its true.
you can still get a decent 3 bed place for 235.000 here at present.

"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

What about trying the lovely town of Ware. It's just on the border of Herts, so is a bit less chavvy that most of Essex
