Flat above has laminate flooring, Housing association wont do anything

the guy has apparently been here 10yrs and has the old tenancy which never said laminate is banned.
Really annoying as there is no sound proofing, he isnt a bad guy but he walks around in boots/shoes and wont take them off which is fair enough its his flat he can do as he pleases.

Housing association have said as it is old tenancy and not intential they cannot do anything,
really !!!!es me off because in my tenancy it bans it for this very reason
are there any laws in regards to this?

he is very heavy footed and runs up the stairs, he is also over weight. All issues which he cannot help or its his flat so he can but it does annoy me i cannot help how i feel
he does work 9-5 though so i do have some peace but the weekends i dread, i havent had a weekend inside in ages

    1. Check the lease for the property. Does that say no laminate? If so, contact the freeholder.

    2. Move house.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Tea and cake, and persuade him to change his shoes/boots for slippers when he arrives home.
  • i did try talking to him but he replied with he has been here ten years with no complaints so thats why he doesnt want to take his shoes off which tbh i do agree with him that it is his flat he can wear tap dancing shoes if he wanted to, he pays to live there and i dont have a right to tell him what to do.

isnt there anything in the building regs or anything to forbid laminate?

my tenancy says no laminate but he has the old tenancy which doesnt say antyhing in regards to flooring

Very loud music for ten minutes at 3 am.
Especially if he works, he does work I assume?
  • i wondering if there are any laws
i dont agree he should have laminate flooring for this very reason, there are many complaints like mine in regards to laminate in floors above
i do agree he can wear shoes if he wishes although i think it is inconsiderate

The ironic thing is that if you look at photos of apartments on rightmove or any other property portal site you will see about 80% of the time the apartment photos have laminate NOT carpet.

MSE say this message is too short so here is a sentence of padding.
