What have been your rage moments so far on the road?

Only one road rage moment, someone cut me up so I gave them the coffee beans, they indicated they would very much like to discuss this matter further, we both pulled over into a lay-by, I was well up for a discussion until I saw the man mountain unfold himself out of the car.
In my grandparents vocabulary "he would have filled a shithouse door"
I slammed the car into gear and floored it whilst repeating the coffee beans gesture.
Now I am calm personified bar for hurling the odd profanity in the direction of the daft and talentless.0 -

I was a passenger in my son's Jag.XF once when a small hatchback entered via a slip road, across the left hand lane and then slipped in front of us into a 2 second gap. My son is a very laid back person so he dropped back a bit and we followed the hatchback for 3 or 4 miles until it moved into the left hand lane and predictably exited I.e. he only travelled from one exit to the next on the dual carriageway (I call such people "local teararsers"). Once it was in the left hand lane we were alongside it for a minute or so and I delivered a steady stare out of my window. The driver looked straight ahead for a while and eventually glanced over at me just before exiting. I was amused because our car was black and both my son and I were wearing black so maybe the hatchback driver got worried that he'd offended officialdom of some kind.0 -
Not my rage (mostly), but someone elses:
I was driving along a 30mph zone behind a large Mazda people carrier style thing. Anyway, minding my own business and got to a round about, followed the Mazda onto the bypass. Sat behind him at what I thought was a reasonable distance in the overtaking lane whilst he overtook some cars. He didn't move back in despite the road being clear.
I sat behind him abit longer and still nothing, so I moved to the inside and he cut in too. OK. I moved back out and he moved half way, driving across two lanes.
Then he started to brake check me. Obviously, I gave him some signs, he was no doubt doing the same. Got to the end of the bypass and hit a busy roundabout, he went and it wasn't clear for me.
I assumed this was the end of it, but no. Further down the road, I saw the same car pulled in at a layby. He pulled out behind me and followed me along a road. I thought it was weird, so decided to turn off on a slightly quiet road and sure enough, he followed.
Anyway, I drove around town for abit, and he followed every move. Eventually, I lost him outside my girlfriends dads house down a backstreet. A month or so later, I parked at Morrisons and thought nothing of a pickup truck pulling up behind me. Turns out it was the same guy. Came up to my door, threatened to kill me. Advised me I was driving like an idiot and I endangered hid childrens lives.
Yes, he was break checking me, cutting across two lanes and followed me around town with three children in his car.
To this day, I've not changed my driving style and never has anyone else had an issue with it.0 -
When i was younger i probably caused you all to rage as i drove like i owned the road, and it eventually came to a point when someone massive was ready to rip my head off...
Was going up the A38 towards Nottingham in my 2.2 diesel accord, cruising at 60mph as i was in no rush. came up behind someone slower, checked mirrors, car was a way back, so indicated and pulled out. this car came racing up to me flashing lights, but by this point i was pretty much past the car. This car was quite a old vectra, so to p1ss the bloke off i pulled over then floored it to keep up alongside the inside of him, then pull in front of him again to make a point that my car was quicker (and my manhood smaller!)
a wee chase ensued but my car was quicker so i pulled away - until i came up to rudeboi in his punto sporting that wouldnt pull into the inside lane to move out the way (he was doing to me exactly what i deserved for what id done to vectra man...)
We got to the traffic lights at the A38/M1 junction and vectra man got out his car. I'm 6"2, 20 stone former rugby player, and he made me feel small. doors got locked, he punched the glass of my drivers door window twice (how it didnt smash i have no idea), then the lights went to green so i floored it onto the M1. Undertook punto down the slip road who had seen the whole thing in his mirrors, he held up his hand in apology as i guessed he saw why i was originally in such a rush.
Shook me up something proper, so although i lose my short temper on the road, unless i desperately need to get on the horn or someting with someone being completely dumb and dangerous, i rant and rage to myself in the car and just try to drive on and try to forget about it.
Edit: this was 6/7 years ago, and my heart was racing and im shaking/sweating a little just typing it up after all this time...0 -
The only thing that winds me up are taxi drivers 'parking' in the middle of the road to pick up/drop off fares when just a little futher on they could park at the side of the road and not cause the obstruction. Seems a regular occurence in Portsmouth.
...oh yeah and cyclists always running red lights!0 -
Other cars running red lights used to p1ss me off but I don't get concerned now as in my locality the rules seem to have changed to the following
Green - go
Amber - same as green
Red - merely advisory , use your discretion (not necessarily with any thought at all for road safety)Forgotten but not gone.0 -
I don't do road rage, never have. I don't even wave gestures at people, although I sometimes let off steam by cursing them to the heavens from the privacy of my own metal box. Much better to let it all flow by, and let them have their accident somewhere else.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
