What have been your rage moments so far on the road?

There are people who drive about passively trying to p1ss off other drivers, usually I spot them and avoid them, but sometimes they come as a surprise.
It's these that make me see red.
So like today, random chap in a KIA Picanto pulls out of side road in a 30 limit, right in front of me, he she's me and accelerates slowly, so now i'm behind him and we're doing 15mph...... Ok "whatever you pillock".
Then 200yrds later we get to another junction onto a 40 limit dual carriageway, we pull out off the slip road and not only does he accelerate as hard as he can, but he does so in the middle of the two lanes.
Some people are just out looking to cause as much trouble as they can, without breaking the highway code (or at least their version of it).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Following on from that Strider there seem to be a lot of people who enjoy driving slowly, but when you go to overtake them they suddenly turn into a speed demon and boot it.
As for road rage, what i get most annoyed about is drivers using the wrong lanes at roundabouts to try and gain themselves some time, at the expense and danger of everyone else who uses the lanes correctly.0 -
i get annoyed by inconsiderate people who just stop anywhere and everywhere.
a driver decided to block entry into a supermarket carpark, literally 1 lane in and 1 lane out in a one way system. he stopped right at the choke point talking to a pedestrian.
i beeped my horn quickly, car drove on but then the pedestrian gave me the dirtiest look ive seen in a long time.
couldn't beleive the cheek of it.
the driver had all the space in the world to pull over, in fact it's a bloody car park, yet they stop at the worst place of all.
black cab drivers also just stop immediately absoluely anywhere, once a black cab stopped right after a yellow box junction, blocking me into the junction. he stopped because a fare waved him down. i took his reg down for the appeal, but not fine came through the post.0 -
I more smirk and carry on with my day than "rage" as such.
However people who don't understand "merge in turn" and treat it like some sort of territorial p£ssing match.
Merge like a zipper, or in turn like the name suggests....Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -

I have had an interesting drive into work today, as it would appear when I pulled out into a decent gap of at least 3 car lengths, after joining the motorway (due to the junction the speed of the traffic was down to about 30mph) between two cars on the motorway, the car behind didn’t seem to like it and then proceeded to speed up and then drive about 3 foot from my bumper for about 10 miles to the next junction, in which he was pulling off, but decided it would be a good idea to pull along side me and shout abuse at me, doubt it helped matter that I just ignored the abuse as he was so red in the face I thought he might burst a blood vessel, oh well the wonders of road rage.
should have known though, that something like that would have happened, as it was a merc driverDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
So I turned left onto a mian road and nothing was coming from the right. I was taking it easy as I was in no rush. A little car came racing up behind flashing it's lights. At this point I was up to the speed limit of 30mph. The car the overtook me on a mini roundabout and slammed their brakes on. I naturally drove round them and pulled over. I got out and asked them what they were playing at. The woman told her boyfriend to hit me, which at this point I got back in my Vauxhall. The male passenger then decided to kick my doors in (not a euphamism!!!) and the rear quarter. Resulting in the car being a write off. Sometimes it's not worth stopping to have your say, I learnt the hard way.
I now just look at it as amusement when someone acts like a pillock!0 -
Generally when drivers indicate too late, and forced too wait before car, causing congestion with cars behind.
more irritating....
Though I do not get angry, never had road rage but was tested when I had to drive wife , baby, wife's mum to airport - I put the wrong destination on GPS did not really notice untill I reaslised that this route was very familiar. As this wrong destination was called airport something, where I bought the ticket.
Then I changed the GPS navigation to the airport, then there was a lot of traffic. I believe there was 1 and a half hours left for the take off. Wife and her mum have a temper they were shouting, I told them to be quiet as I cannot drive with them shouting. Then I took a wrong turn , it was night and found myself in some giant car park. Heart beat increased, needed very fast driving, and very fast thinking.
Luckily the airport staff were still waiting, and said we were late. I was a nervous wreck driving home. Though .....When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0 -
Driving brings the worst out in me. From a calm and gentle person I turn into some sort of road vigilante. It's weird. Since I've realised it I sold the car and swapped it for a bicycle for shorter journeys and motorcycle for longer ones. No more rage, happy days! :j0

To be honest, I'm not surprised.
If your description is about right then, with a 3 car length gap, you move into the middle of it and leave 1 car length in front and behind. Obviously, "car length" is a highly precise measurement so let's be generous and make it three 17 foot American barges.
Now, 17 foot is 5.18 metres and, at 30mph, you're travelling at 13 1/3 metres per second. So, you took his (already too small) 1.2 second safety gap and turned it into a 0.4 second gap. Are you insane or just suicidal when you think that's a "decent gap" to take???
Doesn't excuse his reaction though.0
