Is there a perfect bathroom layout? Have you got it?

I'm discounting the bath next to shower with a wall between. Found some images online and not keen, although a freestanding bath and glass shower enclosure look okay in relatively close proximity.
I'd be happy with a 900 square tray. Wondering whether to sink it into the plant room next door so it's enclosed on three sides. Gives more of an illusion of space and a clear view from and of the bath.
Too many options. It's all fun, though.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

How big is the room?
If you want the most efficient way, here is my though.
Assume your room in a rectangular shape. First, imagine divide your room in to 9 areas like your keypad
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
Door open at 2
toliet at 8
bath with shower on top at 3,6,9
basin at 4. You can get build in basin cabinet if you want some storage.
The min space you need is probably about 8' x 6'
See it's all personal preference - I would never ever design a bathroom with the door at 2 and the toilet at 8 - it means the first thing you see on walking in the room is the loo. I'd rather a some other item be the first impression.
I have a door that opens at 3 and a toilet at 9 - I absolutely hate it - especially since it's a terrace, the bathroom is at the top of the stairs and if you leave the bathroom door open and the front door is open - you can have an embarrassing conversation with whichever unfortunate is stood at the front door
As soon as I have the funds saved, it's all being changed round regardless of the cost of moving waste services.0 -
Doozergirl - have you tried playing around with this - it's fun in a slightly geeky way and you never know - it might trigger some inspiration http://www.ideal-standard.co.uk/3d-planner.html0

I agree. This house had the loo right at the top of the stairs looking straight down at the door when we bought it. We moved the bathroom door. The other benefit was that we got a shower in where the door had been by turning the loo to face the other way.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Totally agree.
I've just had to have my rectangular shower taken out and replaced by one which is 900mm square and even that's barely big enough.0 -
I agree with toilet. Also I have a bathroom with door at 1 and basin at 4. You cant open the door fully because basin on way. Then bath at 3 and 6. Not much space to walk around bath. Toilet is at 9 and shower at 7. I want a new batroom with shower over bath to get more space. So I want bath at 7,8,9. Then toilet at 6 and basin with a cabinet at 3.tizerbelle wrote: »See it's all personal preference - I would never ever design a bathroom with the door at 2 and the toilet at 8 - it means the first thing you see on walking in the room is the loo. I'm surprised no mention of a full wet room yet - the ultimate in spacious showering ?0

Because they're a pain in the derrier, water sloshing all over the floor. Ok if you have acres of space and can slightly sink a very spacious shower area.
We have managed with an 800 square shower for 15 years but I must admit something larger would be nice, but that was the only option for a separate shower and bath and its worked ok.
If you have the option to pinch a bit from another room then go the whole hog something like a 1400x 900 with a walk in enclosure.
Wall hung pans are all the rage nowadays and great for hotels for mopping under, but they do need substantial fixings otherwise they do move slightly and can come loose over time.0 -

Our toilet is opposite the door too, I don't like this either.
Shower at seven, bath at nine, basin 6, toilet 3, door 1, airing cupboard 4.
It's quite a big bathroom 13ft x 8ft approx.0
