Spacer issue for plug sockets

Having just tiled the kitchen I was after some spacers to go round the edges of the plug sockets - to a, hide the cut edges of tiles and b. bring them flush against the wall again.
However the ones I have bought don't seem to be large enough to house the fascias of our existing sockets.. I would have thought that these were all universal in size?? Either way the ones i've bought do not fit and I cant seem to find any larger ones online?
Any suggestions from the forum would be much appreciated!

Are your sockets standard size?. Sockets can be very cheap. Replacing them could be easier.0

They looked to be standard size.. I can measure them tonight to check. Any ideas on what the standard dimensions should be?

I am struggling to understand the problem, a photo would help.
Did you not remove the sockets and tile up to the edge of the backing box in the wall?
If so, the socket plates should cover the edge of the tiles. If they don't then you must have very small plates.0 -

It's not that they spacers dont cover the edges of the tiles; the spacers themselves seem to not be large enough to fit round the actual socket fascias. I can only imagine that whoever fitted them, did not use standard size sockets..0 -

Yes this was the plan, however the spacers I ordered are simply not large enough to actually house the front plates of the sockets. Can only imagine the sockets that were installed to do not have standard sized front plates on them..0 -

Yes that is the realisation I was coming to..! Can you suggest anything that could go around the borders of the socket plates to make it look a bit cleaner around the tile edges?
Thanks!0 -
