Looking for a 'quiet' residence nearby Egham

Thanks all. Egham, because the job is there and walking to work was the original plan. I might end up staying overnight in the areas I would consider living in just to see how noisy it really is. Yesterday my search reached as far as out as Hook (not too bad unless traffic is at a stall).

At Hook you'll probably have the Chinooks coming and going from RAF Odiham.

Then you'll have executive jets coming and going from Farnborough and Northolt. These, though, are a lot quieter than big jets and mainly busy early morning late afternoon.

The skies are very busy around West London, as are the roads.

Try Ashford. It is less than three miles from the airport yet not under any flight path as it sits almost directly south of the runways - which operate east/west of the airport.

I bought a house exactly that way in Aberdeen awhile back. And just this year I bought a house in Devon that exact same way was well. And as far as I know both are still in the UK ;)

I can deal with noise, just not big jet noise, so that sounds ok.

    "Try Ashford"

Thanks. I'll check out that area as well.
