Yes, but they're still better off after tax on 2 x £95k than on 1 x £190k, a fact that seems not to have occurred to them.0

In fairness they didn't go looking for sympathy as such, rather they wrote into a newspaper aimed at basically the ruling elite, asking for some tips that, let's face it, might well be of interest to plenty of other members of this demographic.
If they'd been looking for a little more empathy I suppose they might, for example, have said something about how hard their jobs are and how difficult it's going to be to continue earning at those levels for the next twenty years.
The advice they get is quite unimaginative. No suggestion, for example, of 'state (schooling) till (age) eight', or really getting under the bonnet of their expenditure, e.g. 'tube to work every day? drive an old banger' or 'maybe time to give up on skiing as a hobby', etc.FACT.0 -

It is very hard for women to work when child care, which normally falls to women, has to paid out of taxed income. Anyone would think that the rules are set by a bunch of rich men, surely we can't be living in a democracy where most people are disbarred from standing by being not-white or, in the case of Labour, not-men.0 -
It doesn't say she is a lawyer. We should make that clear, so as not to offend all those lawyers who earn a living from not handling whiplash claims. (There are some, I believe...)
There are even lawyers specialising in personal injury law who don't spend their time handling bogus whiplash claims. The compensation that my PI lawyers have got for me is paying for my children to receive the treatment they need (not available on the NHS) after being injured (both physically and psychologically) in the preventable accident that killed their father.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
