The absolute values for earning/expense is immaterial.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

Indeed - Mr Micawber's maxim still rings true over 160 years later:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilkins_MicawberAnnual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds nought and six, result misery.'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).

Seems that the Brownsons have now got a lawyer on the go, trying to "protect their reputation" by chasing around the message boards trying to get all reference and discussion of them removed.
If that's not a clear signal of utter bell-endiainism, I don't know what is?0 -

It's all too late for the Brownson's They've totally humiliated themselves and I'm sure there peer group are still having a good laugh at their expense!
Looks like they haven't managed to get the Mail to remove this article.

in a boring meeting, felt I needed cheering up, searched for a full copy of the original article, found nothing, don't suppose anyone can help?

The link at post #166 is no longer working, but they haven't managed to get this removed yet:
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/earn-190k-sell-flat-afford-083610868.html
Overall it seems the 'right to be forgotten' (when it suits people!) is working in the main. However, can they get this removed from a US site, I wonder?:
http://www.newsgrio.com/articles/153406-Wealthy-London-couple-ask-agony-aunt-how-they-will-afford-private-school-fees.html
I wonder how the lawyers' fees are eating into their 'nest egg'!'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).

What irritated me most about those two is that if that they show no awareness of how well off they are as two earners on a joint £190k compared, say, to a single earner on £215k. The latter would actually have less take home pay than they do with their lower headline salaries.0

You are forgetting there's an in house nanny to be paid for. With increases in the minimum wage and pension to be provided. Not cheap these days.0
