Ethical S&S ISA

Meaningless without comparison to other funds investing in similar sectors and with a similar level of risk. Your list is very unclear, CIS/RL and F&C for example have several "Sustainable" funds and each will be up by different amounts.
And why quote five-year performance for most of the funds but three years for FP WHEB? Wouldn't be because WHEB is up a distinctly less impressive 28% over the period, trailing most mid-cap funds by a considerable distance, possibly?
Ethical funds will have benefited considerably in recent years from not being invested in oil and gas. This doesn't mean that ethical funds are better (contrary to a particularly witless recent Grauniad article), that would be cherrypicking - individual sectors are always up and down. When oil and gas is back in favour and ethical funds are underperforming, you will find the ethical industry will fall remarkably silent about how ethical investing delivers better returns, and will instead return to banging the "investing in ethical funds makes you a better person" drum.0 -
Don't forget you can be a passive ethical investor, too. See FTSE4GOOD etc albeit with ridiculous charges.0
