what to do on a cold winter day

I am looking after the kids today and need to find something we can do together. I'm feeling kind of low as I'm not getting on with my ex-partner and the kids are currently just playing in the living room together with the TV on. They are 5 and 2. I'm lacking motivation and feel bad that I'm not interacting with them.

you could make salt dough decorations, you just need 1 cup of flour, half a cup of salt, half a cup of water to make into a dough. Make or cut with mold various christmas shapes, remember to make a hole if you intend to hang them. Bake on a low heat for about an hour then paint them. You can pick up paints and craft bits in £1 shops. Don't need to spend much.
