Thank you everyone. He is called Harrison and he weighs 7lbs 8 1/2 oz. I will be going up to see him on Sunday. (They live about three hours away )

Mum, Dad and myself clubbed together and bought the baby its pram, which can be converted in a car seat. I have also bought a couple of outfits (second hand / various ages) which they have already been given. I am taking up with me a pack of pxmpers. Is there anything else that would be useful for me to take up with me? (Money is going to be very tight for them).

Babies don't need a lot, Gemgem. Nappies, bibs and plenty of what we used to call Babygros (one piece towelling suits) - on account of them producing copious amounts of bodily fluids from both ends.

I have read that Aldi do nappies just as good as the expensive brands.

    Evening all :hello:

Gem-gem - if they are, as you said, going to be short of cash then maybe better to use proper towelling nappies and liners. Much cheaper to use and better for the planet.

How about one of those towelling wraps with a hood for when they've been bathed.

Thanks. I will definitely get some bibs. Sis only has 6 of these. I don't have an Aldi near me but I will look out for one on my travels up to her.

I agree with the towelling nappies being more eco friendly - I will suggest it to sis but I know that she will be going back to work after 17 weeks.
I like the idea of one of those towelling wraps for when they get out of the bath to keep them warm. Thanks.

Good afternoon NSD gang! NSD Number 7 straight from Chateau Nargle into the Cauldron of Doom!

I think our panto finale needs a little tweaking........Fabio, Peter Pan just needs to give Wendy a gallant kiss on her hand, not a full blown snog, so don't worry about getting up close and personal with Helga.

So, Fabio and Helga....your entrance again, please!
And downstage to the front.....turn and bow to the audience....Then the orchestra......Then the kiss on the hand..no, Helga, didn't you hear what I said? Helga! Helga! Put him down! No tongues!

Anybody got a bucket of water?
