I posted about this previously in the Credit Card forum but earning 4% back on a spend that would usually attract 1% etc makes it worthwhile whilst the promotion is running.
I'm guessing at retailers who don't participate in the 123 scheme (for example Boots the Chemist) would attract 3% cash back? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
That's how I understand it - but remember the max you can earn is £3 in any [statement] month.
Also, your charge for the card will be £3 from January onwards.0 -

My bad (as us youngsters say!). I was wondering why no one else had posted this.0 -

My account anniversary is April so I'm not affected by the £3 monthly charge until then; as my card was taken out prior to September (16th?) I'm going to keep the card irrespective because my 1 and 2 % categories aren't capped at £3 per month. My bad (as us youngsters say!). I was wondering why no one else had posted this.
In all fairness the amount of threads replied to and new ones created on a daily basis would mean mine disappeared within days from the first page.
Anyway you've done people a favour at MSE because those who weren't aware of the scheme have had it brought to their attention now. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Being as I've got a sizeable balance at 0% until December 2016 it still pays me to keep the card even if I don't use it to spend in the meantime. The increase in fees makes it less attractive but it's still worth my while keeping.0
