Being an existing customer getting the new customer deals

I am a Virgin Media customer no longer tied into my contract but when I try to get a new customer deal it recognises I am an existing Broadband and phone customer. If I were to close the account and get my wife to get the same Broadband and phone package on the same day would we then be able to do this or is the account 'driven' by the address?
Many thanks

Try phoning Customer Retentions during normal office hours Mon-Fri and try to negotiate a better deal. They are a UK based team so you don't have to worry about having to deal with Indian call centres working from scripts.
If you have a Virgin landline, dial 150 and select options 4, then 5.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -

On here, people often ask your question, but regarding Sky.
Some suggested it is risky, while others say they have got away with it, usually when the partner has a different surname and different bank account.
However, if caught, you are stuck in a contract for which you will be charged full price.
Your best bet is to negotiate a deal, but it may not be as good as a new customer deal as that is its purpose; bringing in new customers.0 -

If you close the account then you have to give 30 days notice, and you will have an interruption in service and have to return the equipment. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
