All you've said, over and over again, is that they are advertised for £6500.
You cant advertise falsely can you? There is not a car with the same spec as mine which isn't advertised for about £6,500. And the dealer has not been able to prove otherwise.
Funnily enough, the Trading Standards officer said that I should take the £4,300 and then haggle with another dealer to bring the price down!!! How am I supposed to haggle over £2,000!
Anyway lets leave aside the discussion on price. I don't want to talk about it anymore.
The thing that bothers me about these replies is that some here are suggesting that the car is fit for purpose and the trader is not liable at all in remedying the problem. I have had an expert record that the mould and bacteria levels are unsafe for human presence - regardless of my asthma. So this car is unsafe for humans in general, not just me. Three garages (including the dealer) could not find any other source for the problem except the AC. Two of them suggested and AC core change. Even when the AC is off the car has dangerous levels of mould for my health.
Okay leave aside the debate on the price, why even argue that is fit for purpose?0 -

Honestly, you sound like a nightmare.
And you're the one in the wrong, imo0 -
You need to explain to me why the car is fit for purpose. That's all I am asking for.0

Oh dear, someone really has far too much time on their hands!0

Can you guys please kindly explain to me just that one point regarding the car being fit for purpose?
I have admitted that I was wrong in not taking the car back to the dealer. I was given wrong advise by CAB. In that area the dealer is not at fault.0 -

?
They may all be advertised for £6500 but tell us how many of them sold for £6500.
I'm guessing it's a big fat zero and that the actual price they sell for is an awful lot closer to £6000.
You are being made an excellent offer in large part due to your persistence but now really is the time to 'take the money and run'.You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
I didn't want to discuss the price anymore but since you have mentioned it to me, I might as well ask a question. I am not a car buying expert and I don't know much about these things. If I see a price for £7,000 on a Toyota website, then how much will the car normally go for? I have tried to haggle in the past with Toyota dealers and they never budge. £6,495 was the lowest I could find - others were higher.0 -

You are right about the blood pressure part. Sometimes it's just better to accept things to reduce the hassle. It's a very good point.
I am going to consider the offer now.
Thanks for the kind reply.0
