Whilst I agree that stopping them in the first place is the ideal, it would help if the :spam: buttons were more 'sensitive'. I don't know how many times they need to be hit in order to get rid of a post, but these were a) obvious and b) up there for hours, so I can't believe the button wasn't hit several times, yet they were still there.

If the 'required no of hits' was reduced, users would be more inclined to hit the button.

Stopping them getting onto the Forum has to be the ideal but once the 4th or 6th (or whatever it is) hitting of the SPAM buttonthe message ought to automatically disappear

This is what I'm talking about.

A member joins and within less than 5 minutes they have 5 (and counting) posts on the forum selling fake documents.

If there is to be any kind of control, a full time member of staff has to notice this kind of thing.

I can. Hardly a surprise that most members CBA anymore to open endless threads only to click the 'Spam' button. Why are three clicks needed for something that can be done in one click, not to mention the time wasted on loading the page, scrolling down and then getting back?!
  • Thanks everyone

As usual, we can't comment on what's happening behind the scenes but it's some time since this type of spam has got through. We knew the MO would change and we're adapting as it does.

As usual I can only emphasise please use the spam button as much as possible.

I'm going to lock this thread to keep discussion current. Please post on today's thread.

    Thanks!
