Gloucester to Gatwick

Options
We're travelling to Gatwick at the end of September and I've been looking into the ways of getting there cheaply.

I have Megabus as the cheapest method of getting into London, but don't have a clue how to get from Green Line Station/Victoria to Gatwick without having to spend hundreds.

The Megabus is about £46 and for double that I can park the car at Gatwick for the fortnight.

Does anyone know a cheaper alternative? National Express will go door to door but for 2 adults 2 kids it's over £100.

Thanks in advance.

You walk a couple hundred yards to Victoria Train station and get the SOUTHERN TRAINS - em - train to Gatwick unless it's between 4 & 7pm on a weekday (Rush Hour) when you get the Gatwick Express instead so as to avoid the crowds

Just to add the one way cost for 2 adults & 2 children is £20.40 on the Southern Trains service and should be buyable on the day

Walk across the road to Victoria Coach Station and get the hourly National Express coach to Gatwick.

It's £6.90 single and there are reductions on returns and children's tickest

Gatwick Express or a Southern Trains service to Gatwick Airport from Victoria... Gatwick Express is twice the proce of Southern Trains, but is faster...

And takes 2-3 times as long as the train and costs £19.80 which saves you all of 60p

Multi leg train journey. I paid £6 to travel from Stonehouse to Gatwick.

  • Gloucester to Gatwick can be done one change of train at Reading if the times work out right so I would go for that if you can get a good price.

Yes. And if you book well in advance, you can get some absurdly low fares on the Virgin service from Reading to Gatwick. It is a comfortable train, but crawls through London at what seem like walking speed.
