Ideas for OS 1st anniversary gift?

Hiya,
Any ideas on a 1st wedding anniversary gift for my dh which is OS?
We have booked a weekend away in a nice hotel so don't want too spend much on presents but want to give him something different and a bit unique.
I know 1st wedding anniversary is 'paper' but don't think a copy of the Daily Star will do it.
Thanks

someone told me that they had met a couple who had sent the same card to each other every year of their married lives (about 40 odd!) what they did was write a new message in it every year - i thought this was a really nice idea - not sure if this helps - perhaps you could make your own card in some wayThe mind is like a parachute. I like that idea, although do they have any room left??:D
I make my own cards anyway (sell them to family and friends too) so he'll know he's getting one of them but it is a nice idea to keep sending it back to him. Really romantic! Thanks0 -

me and my brother do the sending the same card thing,it started with my brother and mum, but when she passed away 14 years ago i took over, we send it back and forth for each others birthdays, the same card has gone back and forth twice a year for 20 years now, starting to run out of room, and takes a while to find this years message so might need to staple a leaf of paper inside, but it`s the card i really look forward to getting every year :TGoing it alone and feeling the pinch

My OH was away on our first anniversary so he posted an anniversary card to me - had the name and address on the front but the card was blank! I kept it and he gives me the same card every year - and its still blank!!:hello:0

On our first anniversary, my OH cut out 365 saucer sized paper hearts (one for each day we had been married). On one side they said 'I love you' and on the other side 'Mrs xxxxx'. He scattered them around the bedroom for when I woke up. We've now been married 11 years. AAhhh!0

Why don't you try your hand at some origami keeping to the paper theme! I found some instructions by doing a google search but that was for making a banger and I don't think thats very romantic!!Plan to PAD Everyday 2024Credit Card - £3662.99 (int free to 11/11/25) -PAD TotalsJan 2024 -0

What about putting your smell (fragrance) on a piece of paper and writing about your first date or things you fondly remember or xx things you like about your DP- Its the sort of thing my OH would really like as he remembers to this day what fragrance I was wearing... Just a shame that its all I had at the time as I can't stand the smell now :rolleyes:0

I can think of something......... :kisses2: but its a bit rude to go into details........Im sure he'd like it tho!!
For our first anniversary (we got married the day before my birthday, OH said its so he can remember the date! shame, cos I can never remember my birthday!) we got a KFC and went down to the seafront where he first asked me out. cost us about £8 and we were happy as larry!!! (We dont spend much money in this house, can ya tell :rotfl: !!)Mummy to two girls, 4 & 1, been at home for four years, struggling to contend with the terrifying thought of returning to work.0
