I have been having a lot of trouble pursuing a claim agains Cubana (Cuba's airline), my flight was delayed 24 hours without reason.
At the time of my flight Cubana had a UK office but no longer have a presence in the UK and don't even fly here any more. Cubana however do have many offices throughout the EU and as this is an EU ruling my claim is valid.

I wrote to them in 2012 but got no response and as they have no UK office I gave up and left it, however last year I decided to give a NWNF company a try as I had nothing to loose.

I should firstly say Bott (and many others) wont touch the case because of the difficulty with this airline and no UK office.

I found one company (wont name or go into in this thread) who got to the stage of court action in the EU but unfortunately (or fortunately for me, however you look at it) appear to have done a flit with peoples money so my case has stopped.

I have had to start again and have now found another company who work in the UK but are based in the EU and are therefore happy to proceed (I say happy, initially they were not going to take it), I have managed to get a copy of the CAA response the old NWNF company arranged (Cubana would not rely to the CAA), but apart from that I have to start from scratch with this new company.

So far I am very impressed with this new company and they have solicitors in two EU country's, I will update when I have more information.

I am not posting for advice but simply to document this for other Cubana customers, the company is: flight delayed (hyphen between the two words), the point of the post is there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel for Cubana customers.

I know there are other Cubana claims as I have seen them hidden in other threads.

If you have a Cubana claim I suggest you subscribe here and I will report my experience, also put a reply here and we can put our experience together.

Just an update as I know there are others trying to get their compensation from Cubana, I don't know if any are subscribed to this thread....

The company I am using has now put this in the hands of their solicitors (Butterworths) to contact the airline and send them a letter before court action.

It now looks like their could be hope at the end of the tunnel, I first wrote to Cubana Airlines in November 2012, it's taken all this time to get to this stage!

Admire your tenacity but even if you get legal confirmation ie a judgement, i do wonder how you are going to enforce it?
