Is Old git a term applicable to a male or female?.....

Either! My son, who would never in a million years say "Hello mother dear" (nor would I really want him to), when he calls round shouts up "Hello you old git" to which I reply "Well hello little sh*t".

Would add that this is all very good humoured, no offence is intended nor taken. And I wouldn't normally come out with that sort of language, just giving as good as I get!

I always tell them, if you are really lucky, you may be an " Old Git " one day. ;)

It's funny how you suddenly become one of the older generation isn't it? The only other choice is not to get the chance to be part of the older generation so we should ignore the jibes and keep on going.

I became aware that I was getting old when I started to go to pubs and restaurants that were not “family friendly”. I think I have lost my tolerance to bouncy castles, shrieking children and toddlers.

Kids nowadays are such bores....wanting steady jobs, worrying about their pensions, reading MSE forums...glad I'm much younger than them.
  • Thanks to you all for cheering me up on this subject.
I am now off to concentrate on taking up some nice youthful activities!

  • You have all cheered me up. Hitting a milestone on Thursday of this week. Now will have a chuckle about it (as I apply the anti ageing creams that take up my bathroom)

The only anti ageing cream I have is Deep Heat. If the others worked, the graveyards would be empty :rotfl:
