Ageism

I am a female in my late-fifties and have started to become aware of ageism.
Recently I was referred to as "an old git" in a e-mail message "you are the old git in this conversation!" -

then I was called trendy for using lol..
Do I laugh or cry about this??

Laugh, definitely. One of the upsides of getting older that I've found is that I don't take myself too seriously. A good thing too, since I'm surrounded by people who are much younger than me at work and at home.

I think of 'old git' as being more applicable to males, but that may just be because I'm referred to as the 'old boiler' where I work :rotfl:

my good friend works on a new homes development alongside two young girls in their 30s she always says to them, help the aged, when she needs some help. it makes me laugh, she has more get up and go than either of them and sells more too.

I was going to post this same thing! It's absolutely true, sadly.
