Remember the Orange 'Free Broadband for Life' scandal. EE are now doing the same.

Hello all, something which may be of interest on the back of the Orange Free Broadband for Life cancellation some three years ago, EE appear to be doing something similar. I have received notification that EE will no longer supply my free broadband (offered as a deal with my mobile phone contract) via another providers landline service. A 'business decision' I have been told. To continue with the free broadband I'd have to transfer to EE as my landline provider.
Not that simple if you are in any existing contracts or have paid in advance for line rental saver. So EE have given me 30 days notice. Well that's jolly nice of them, so much for valuing me as a customer.
Has anyone else had notification of this recently?

Yes, I received a similar letter dated Dec 15th which I found on my return from overseas yesterday, after first calling EE to report that my broadband was not working and being told that it was cancelled.Bluemotech wrote: »Has anyone else had notification of this recently?
The reason given was that they no longer supply broadband when calls service is provided by someone else (I am on BT Basic). It was suggested that I call their sales team to discuss a calls plus broadband deal. I then suggested that I should continue to receive my free broadband as long as my current Orange mobile contract continues, as promised (it's a rolling monthly sim-only).
But it looks like I must try to get hold of a manager to remonstrate with, when I'm a bit less jetlagged, or start looking for an alternative...Evolution, not revolution0
