Ebay Problem

Evening All,

Need a little bit of advice.
I listed a iPhone 5s i had that was faulty .
I listed it as For Parts Not Working.

Listed the faults i was aware of , sold it .
Buyer left great feedback then 10 days later put a dispute in with eBay and paypal saying item was Faulty and not as listed.

Paypal has put cash on hold. Have spoken to buyer and explained that it was sold as for parts not working but he's still asking for full refund.

Then after telling him ill let eBay deal with it , returns the phone.

Where do i stand , will eBay side with him?

Cheers for any advice

Dave

Of the faults you were aware of, is the buyer disputing a particular feature isn't working.
Presumably you're supposed to respond to the case either by refund or disputing his claim.
  • He said it had more faults than i listed .
But instead of contacting me when these faults arose, he took it to a shop and got them to take it apart etc .

I'm sure someone from the eBay board will be along in a bit but I think in these circumstances they will say it is not as described.
I think I've read of a person with a similar issue who lost the case.
If you don't know what's wrong with something it's best to say that, rather than try to estimate what might be wrong.
  • Id did list the faults i was aware of thou with pictures

Ummmmm so even listing it as Not Working For Parts , you can still return item ..

Seems to be the way eBay are going .... Weird as buyer left great feedback then 10 days later changes mind....

    Thanks for info ...

Did he message you with any additional questions?
There is a freephone number for eBay, I think they are open till 8

I find them very polite and you can sometimes press the point home better over the phone.
I'm wondering if them taking it apart without checking with You will void the claim-long shot.
For all you know the repairer could have damaged it.
Is there any indication he's a business ?
Have you tried googling his phone number
  • That what i was thinking ...
I spoke to eBay but they just said ,we will have to check all details etc..
    No real help....

If you have phone back then just refund and resell.

Assuming that the phone still has all of the same internal bits that it was sold with.
It's not unheard of for buyers to purchase electronic items with the sole intention of swopping bits over to fix their own unit then raising a dispute and returning the now cannibalised purchase.

He shouldn't be entitled to a refund if he or someone he paid has taken the phone apart to do God knows with. Is it definitely your phone he returned, does it look like and of the parts have been removed and replaced with broken parts?
Have you forwarded eBay copies of all correspondence?
