Talk Talk - FINAL DEMAND

I have just received a final demand for an unpaid bill from Talk Talk.
The letter says I have seven days to pay or ‘they will pass your account to a licensed debt collection agency’ and ‘your credit rating may already be affected through non- payment of bills’.
On 22/3/07 I cancelled my Talk3 package with Talk Talk (I was told at the time that I would not be charged for cancelling) after they failed to connect me to their broadband service.
After cancelling, they continued to send me bills for line rental - even though I had transferred to Tiscali. They eventually phoned me asking why I had stopped my direct debit; I pointed out that I only owed Talk Talk fifty pence call charges and offered to put 50p in the post for them. In June they finally relented and sent me an email saying:
This has been dragging on for six months now and I’m starting to get bored with it all.
What can they do to my credit rating? And what can the debt collectors do if I don’t actually owe Talk Talk any money?

“Dear Mr,
Thank you for your recent reply.Following on from our conversation today.
I can confirm that I have requested your TalkTalk account to be disconnected and this usually take up to 10-14 working days.
Please be advised I have also credited your account with £43.99, to clear the outstanding payment with us.To confirm you will no longer receive any invoices from TalkTalk.
Yours sincerely,
Laura EllisTalk
Talk Correspondence Department”
They have since sent me another bill for a disconnection fee which I should not have to pay as I cancelled within the 30 day trial period. This has been dragging on for six months now and I’m starting to get bored with it all.

Have you written to them and included a copy of the email? This would seem a simple way of resolving the situation?Gone ... or have I?0

Talk Talk don't reply to emails OR letters, which is why they have so many customer service problems.
Either:
1. do a search on the telecoms board for Talk Talk and find their special customer service team number
2. phone OFCOM on Tuesday between 9.30 and 5pm - 020 7981 3040 and register a complaint about them.
If you leave it they won't hesitate to send the debt collectors out.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Talk talk are !!!!!!, ive never heard so many bad reports from a company.
I know someone who had exactly the same problem.
Spoke to someone at TT who managed to sort it.
Just ring in and you should be able to sort it easily.
Good Luck0 -
I phoned TT and have now been passed on to their complaints department. Where was this complaints dept. when I complained before? (too busy I expect).
They are aware that I phoned to cancel and confirmed that my broadband was live at the time (although I wasn't able to connect to it) which seems to put me within the 30 day trial period. I did seem to have difficulty explaining this to the call centre person.

I didn't want to write as I wasn’t sure who to write to; also they won't get it until Tuesday and I only have twenty seconds to comply (sorry, seven days)0 -
Hey
This happened to me last year.. i went from talk talk to tiscalli with a MAC code which tt gave to me, but still they kept saying we were still registered to there bb, not tiscallis.. funny thing is, tiscalli have a online account where you can check all your details, how long you have been online etc.. so i knew we were with tiscalli, not tt like they were saying.
Everytime a new bill came through the door i was on the phone to them trying to sort it out, but that didn't help.
In the end, i got really fed up and wrote a letter to them, which did get a response!!
It took a few months to get sorted out, but in the end it was all sorted...
Write them a letter, explain the situation and give it a bit of time.. I refused to make any payments as i didn't owe them any money.
The address i sent the letter to is
Carphone warehouse
1 portal way
London..
Not sure of the post code.. i should really being a CPW employee
I hope it gets resolved for you soon0
