I couldn't disagree more and have never had anything that tasted stale from M&S.
Its never been 3 times the price unless you shop at iceland.

We use our local butcher, pick up a delicious turkey on Christmas Eve. We buy the stuffing and cook it when we do the potatoes and pigs in blankets (all from the butcher), turkey we don't stuff, we just add some salt/pepper/bacon/onion.

their cakes are disgusting.. either really really dry or undercooked and stodgy.. not pleasant. They've had loads of complaints.. even about wedding cakes!


cooked meats that have been crumbly and dry.

I've not been overly enamoured by their buffet type food either.. pastries tasted old .. like they were frozen and then defrosted.

Maybe it varies by store... now I want to go out and research them lol..

V v helpful replies, thank you. My one disappointment seems to be that they tend to say 'does not contain stuffing'. I LOVE stuffing. Maybe they do that separately? I'll keep browsing and will place an order today.

The OP asked about Christmas dinner, not buffet food or cakes.

M&S prices are not 3 times higher - they are pretty much the same as the other supermarkets charge for their premium lines.

M&S do a meat stuffing that comes in a little tray that you just put in the oven then carve, it's lovely!
