Tesco delivery driver causes dameage and Tesco refuse to help

Well I am now officially an ex Tesco customer.
At the weekend a Tesco delivery driver from their Askham Bar branch in York collided with my Car in York and drove off even though he caused damage.
Will Tesco help or even get involved not a chance, according to them the delivery driver denies all knowledge of the incident yeah right!
There was a huge bang with smashing glass everyone around turned to look and one person screamed.....but apparently the driver was unaware!!
So as he says he can't remember it and there is no damage to their vehicle despite this has been reported to the police, Tesco refuse in any way to offer any help or pay for damage repair....great customer relations Tesco.
Despite asking the store manager for head office details, apparently he could not even supply them either, didn't have them to hand .....strange that?
Well I have shopped at Tesco every single week for many many years but I will not step foot in their stores again I am now an Aldi shopper as Tesco do not give a jot for anyone but themselves and think they can get away with anything, in this case it was not a serious accident just very annoying damage which I will have to pay for to repair even though I was almost at a standstill at the time and the driver didn't even stop at the scene of an accident which incidentally is against the law, so according Tesco they are above the law.
With that attitude is there any wonder that you have lost so many customers

How do you know what branch the driver was from? Is there something on the van that tells you this?
Is it possible the driver was from a different tesco branch?0 -

Well, Tesco seem to know who was driving the van, as they claim they have asked him about the incident.
At least, according to the OP.
It all sounds a bit* far fetched to me.
* Actually, very far fetched. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Hit and run becomes a lot trickier with so much CCTV coverage - any cameras in your area?0

This is just a public forum.0 -
Pass all the information on to your insurance company, they will do the contacting Tesco bit - separate dept. that deals with claims.
So, any witnesses name them and contact info, description of the driver - did you take the van reg. no?
The damage you have does have any paint from the van, or did just his bumper make contact? Mind you if it was just the van's bumper it's quite plausible that - no damage!
Good luck.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Do the delivery vans have trackers?0

i'm not happy with tesco, just had a delivery
