My wife has had 2 Yaris now and trim is covered under the warranty.

I have also had issues with my front alloys (car was purchased new) which Ford also refused to cover under warranty.

I wouldn't not buy a car again because of a trim issue, my issue is the standard of customer service which is appalling, therefore my business will be going elsewhere in future

Your issue is you expect to get somewhere by kicking and screaming about a minor fault.

I know it's annoying, I'm confident that I'd be annoyed too, but in the grand scheme of things a bit of door seal is extremely minor and if you kick up a fuss people will just think your a bit spoilt and won't take you seriously.

Other companies will have a policy where they just play a long no matter how ridiculous the customer is being.
“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

  • Is it the case that the '3' year warranty is actually 1 year manufacturer and 2 years dealer?

    From the Ford website:

Your new car comes with peace of mind
When you take delivery of your new Ford, you receive a comprehensive warranty to ensure you enjoy confident motoring.

Our warranty protects your car for up to three years from the moment of delivery.

To begin with, your Ford warranty covers you for one year with unlimited mileage. From then on, your Ford Warranty will safeguard you for another two years or a total of up to 60,000 miles, whichever passes first. (Remember, the 60,000 mile limit includes the mileage you covered in your first year of ownership.)

So if any part of your car requires repair or replacement during this period, as a result of a manufacturing defect, the work will be done free of charge by a Ford Authorised Repairer.

There are also separate warranties to cover paintwork, corrosion, repaired or replaced parts and premature wear and tear.

The cover continues even if you sell your Ford, too.

I had this problem a year or two ago and just stuck the trim back with Evostick ....seems to be fine. You need to align the trim very carefully and then shut the door and leave it for a while for the glue to set.

The car was bought new and the wheels suffered pitting on the inner edges due to brake dust contamination despite being kept spotlessly clean with nothing more than soap and water. When I tried to claim on the warranty the car was 14 months old with 8,000 miles on the clock.

Looking at the Ford Facebook page my complaints about customer service standards is mirrored many times.

And what was their reason for refusing to repair/replace under warranty?
