Not legally you wouldn't.

You'd also run the risk of the cabling being disconnected at any time - VM have limited space in their cabinets and will disconnect a line that is not an active sub if they need it for someone who has an active sub before they'll even consider upgrading the street box.

I think they may also disconnect (at the street boxes) houses that aren't subbed as standard in some places where they suspect there are people using dodgy boxes.

My Sky box runs over a Virgin BB connection, as does my NowTV box.
