Sounds a sensible plan! It is great that eBay is going so well.

I did an event at the weekend and made a grand total of £50 turnover on 4 orders. Some days the photos fly out of the door (or horsebox in our case) and other days people are just not in the mood. My main venue has just started up again after foot and mouth restrictions were lifted so hopefully next Saturday will be a bit more lucrative!

    Take care.

  • Catshark - do you have a website where people can view pics after the event and purchase online? My horse's new owner sent me a link to two cracking pictures of them at an event the other week and I'm seriously considering buying one (even in my tight-fisted state!) - I think there's a huge market beyond the event, especially with Junior riders, think of all the proud grans, grandpas, aunts etc. (Apologies if you've done this already and the grandmothers and eggs saying applies :D )

I played poker again yesterday. Won a $0.10 buy-in tournament and got $0.45 back and then discovered that they have what's called a freeroll tournament where you don't have to pay anything at all to enter, but can win hard cash. The downside is that you're playing against a lot of people - the two I entered last night had nearly 500 and nearly 12,000 players respectively  Still, the first paid the top 10 and the second paid the top 260, and with a prize of up to £30 (or more - if you got knocked out you could buy back in for $1.00 and you could also buy extra chips, this cash is added to the prize fund) it was worth having a go. Sadly I came 117th in the first and 4,479th in the second :rotfl: I think I'd have done better in the first if I hadn't been playing the end of the $0.10 game at the same time - the freeroll had tables of 5 and I was down to the last 3 at that stage in the $0.10, so play was very very quick and I didn't really have time to think too much about the probabilities of which hands were statistically likely to win.

One thing I don't understand about the site that I play on is the exchange rate they use, it's very weird. $ vs £ hasn't moved that much in the past few months, but when I deposited my original $20, my debit card was charged £9.38 and when I withdrew it again last week, I got credited £11.35! Maybe I should just deposit a few hundred and leave it there for a year!! (Just kidding!) I'm nearly up to $5.00 through playing the $0.10 tournaments now. I need to win 15 more to get my balance to $10 and then I'll move up into the $1.00 tournaments - I've set myself a strict rule that I will never play a tournament where the buy-in is more than 10% of my balance. The nice thing about this is that a) I'm playing solely with winnings now and b) even if I lose, 5p for an hour's entertainment is pretty good value in anybody's book.

And talking of entertainment. if anybody wants to see me making a tit of myself on national television (quite literally in this case!) I should be on tonight's episode of Trinny and Susannah Undress The Nation, looking like this:

    (That's the 'after' shot, obviously!!)
