  • Most Telesales jobs don't reference check. Know it's not the greatest but most are nice easy in, easy out... The right position could get you prepared for an office job and dare say you could probably get more 9-5 as well

Only say telesales as I remember seeing the bank programme where the cashiers were targeted to getting 2 appointments per day was it and thinking wowsers that could be worse than telesales at the time!!

    Good luck :)

Similar to my mention above of the Christmas thoughts with Post Office last year ^^ ......

Any part time role would cease my JSA payment and not cover the Housing Benefit/No Council Tax currently being supported by Council.

If I achieved more than 20hrs a week it would break even - so a f/t position is needed. After Christmas I would need to re apply again and restart all processes with JSA and Housing Benefit ....

Its a good thought and one I will review again this year, but thought I had this solution last year only to be thwarted :)

Thanks for your input tho' - appreciate it

You can continue to claim LHA/HB when on a low income, not just when claiming JSA.

Can I just question one thing?

" a solicitors letter confirming my Tribunal case had merit in ther opinion"

    - Still an option?

    Option ? As in ?.

When I decided to stop proceedings, my Solicitor offered to write a letter stating in his opinion, he understood my decision to withdraw and the case had merit. He stated that if I had have had the money to continue, in his opinion, I would have stood a good chance of winning.

He thought it would help, what was an unfair result given the Banks actions.

Therefore I have the letter which I can show potential employers.

Have you considered starting your own business? You could still claim LHA/HB until it took off and working tax credits if you were doing at least 30 hours.

    Thank you again.

I had thought of the possibility, but thought I'd get a job in an established firm, given my experience.

Time passing, I am somewhat guided to start up an Employment Agency as I have received no follow up or assistance over the past 18months. People just don't communicate it appears and I feel I could so much better :)

I did look at the JSA and it is only paid for 6 weeks once I have started down that line - I am yet to check HB. It's another option..

What makes me sad, however, is that a big company have decided to cut there bills and I am thrown out into a situation where other companies don't see a person of value. They would much rather employ a youngster with no business acumen rather than the experience I have....

You need to check working tax credits, not JSA.

Their should be no trust issues with my past. The reference says 'dismissed' but anyone linking the events detailed in my original post would see that the co-inciding factors were - BM nationally to be reduced in number - voluntary redundancied to be offered - surprise investigatory meeting suggesting - disciplinary dimissing. I didn't steal, commit fraud, muck about with, hit, display rudeness to bosses.

Unfortunately prospective employers won't be in a position to 'link the events' as they will have no personal knowledge of the whole picture.

What was the reason for dismissal?

How are you relating this in your CV? What wording have you used?

I know you don't want to look back BUT the past is there and has to be realistically reflected upon.

Were you in a union? Did you approach them for assistance in the legal action?

Why no pension? I presume it's been frozen and not removed?

With all your years experience within the Banking industry, then surely you are well qualified to work as a self-employed financial advisor?.

    Just a thought.
