IMO, the only you can do is what I suggested in my first post.
If they simply fob you off tell them about SoGA and send them a letter before action if they keep doing this. You will need a report later if you submit a SCC claim.
If they blame you for damaging it from the start, get a report proving them wrong, then demand the tablet repaired/replaced (up to them) and the refund for the report.0 -
