Broken Asus tablet warranty
Comments

The Tablet won't even turn on!
Was this the same fault as previously or was it a different fault and do you still have proof of the previous fix/return ?
What is the exact model ? Asus don't actually make a 20inch tablet but they do make a 20 inch all in one touch and none touch PC
Where did you buy the item from ?Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

It will be a struggle getting it fixed. Some retailers (Tesco for one from experience) will deal with claims when stuff is just out of warranty. It's more a case of picking a good retailer that a good product as even the best can fail.
This one may or may not be a lost cause - who are "they" who wouldn't fix it?
For future consideration some banks will extend all warranties to 24 months if you use their "paid for" banking account. I know Nationwide do and will be moving one of those accounts once my Green Flag breakdown cover expires as that is another thing you get with the account.0 -
Yes exact same fault this is the model http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-P1801-B100K-Transformer-Desktop-Processor/dp/B00DM2MLZ0
Bought from Dabs online0 -
Well, if the warranty is really just pathetic 12 months, your only comeback is against the supplier that you've bought the tablet from: Consumer Rights. Unfortunately, after 6 months it's likely to fob you off and rightfully demand a proof that the fault isn't a result of misuse or damage. If so, you'll need to pay for an independent engineer's report and then demand the cost reimbursed by the supplier later. Possibly, you'll need to go as far as Small Claims Court actions.
Bought something prior to 1 Oct 2015? Your legal protection's under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 rather than the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6 months rule does not apply in this case and is covered under the old regulations.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

It was bought "prior to 1 Oct 2015".
I don't know about the new Act, but the 6 months rule certainly applied under the old one.0 -

Use the MSE guide that Grumbler pointed out as to what you should do:

Dabs is part of BT and worth pursuing.
Sounds daft but you have checked the plug fuse and checked the simple things first ?I don't understand...

Hmm my mistake, think you are right on that Grumbler. However as it has already been returned once already for the same fault there is strong evidence existing to support the claim.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Yes its deffo broke, do I use this act against Asus direct or Dabs?0

Dabs as your contract is with Dabs and not Asus. In all probability you will be fobbed off immediately but you need to be persistent.
A quick Google and it seems to be a common problem with the ASUS P1801 :
