Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I still have no idea of what I will recieve, or how the calculation has been made !!
Have looked on their website but without success.
Can anyone enlighten me as to how its calculated so I can get a rough idea of what to expect in the post ?
Thanks.0 -

"What is in it for Portman members ?
Qualifying Portman members will receive one-off windfalls worth at least £200.
For savers, the merger bonus will be worth 5.75% of either their total balance at the close of business on September 11 2006, the day before the merger was announced, or of their total balance on Friday of last week (August 24), whichever is the lower figure. Bonuses are pre-tax and capped at £1,000. Borrowers with the Portman who qualify for a bonus will receive £200, pre-tax."0 -

that's what i heard from head office !!!:D
did head office say cheques will be posted second class, good "professional" building society swallowing practice to post out merger cheques on a friday second class so most people wont be able to pay them in until at least the following monday even if they do arrive on the saturday.
nationwide may make an allowance just in case of further postal strike disruption.
usually if u pay the merger cheque into an account with the society that the merger cheque originated from, they put it in as cleared funds as if it was cash. :j0 -
