Am I entitled to compensation if cause is knock-on effect of weather?

I missed a connecting flight, delaying my journey 24 hours.
The reason for the delay was a flight coming into my connecting location was delayed setting off from London (I was flying from Manchester) due to fog; meaning we had to circle the airport for nearly an hour.
So, the cause is weather (fog) but not directly affecting my journey, affecting another flight which in-turn affected my flight.
Am I entitled to compensation? Thanks in advance.

Go into bott & Co website put your flight details into their flight delay checker and if they say you are due compensation you can pretty much asure yourself that you are due compensation if they say you are not then you are probably not.0

I thought that but he said we had to circle the airport for an hour0

What I'm saying happened is this:
Manchester -> Doha left on time.
London -> Doha was delayed due to fog.
Both flights therefore landed at similar times (presumably the London flight should have landed well before the Manchester one), but it's my guess that the London one was prioritised - meaning our flight from Manchester circled Doha waiting to land.
This meant I missed my connecting flight.
Thanks for the advice all0 -
Sorry but this doesn't make sense. Your flight wouldn't have been circling for an hour over Doha because of another plane that had bumped you from the landing slot. Even if your landing slot did get bumped, the delay would be minimal. So something else must have been responsible for your delay in Doha. It sounds very much like an ATC decision, for which compensation would not be due (though hopefully you were offered a hotel if you stayed overnight).0

Fair enough - yep, what you say makes sense. I was only going off what we were told on the ground in Doha - but we were told different things by different Qatar Airlines staff.
Yeah we got a hotel. Am only mildly miffed (and looking for a bit of money back) because I lost a non-refundable hotel in Toyko and needlessly missed a day of the holiday.
