I've just bought one of the new LG OLED TV's and noticed that it'll record to a hard disc/thumb drive.
Does anyone know which preferably hard drive will work with the TV?
Thanks

Anything with a USB connector. Any external hard drive will do. Streaming media doesn't need a high speed drive. I'd look to buy at least a 1TB drive.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Generally (read your manual!) you need a hard drive with it's own power, or a 2.5" (laptop) drive that doesn't need too much power.
Generally, the TV will format the drive to suit itself, and that's the only place to use it.
Generally you're stuck with one tuner so you have to watch what you're recording.
If you're actually going out to BUY a hard drive, can I suggest you buy a PVR instead? Go second hand if you like. You'll be able to record 2 things on it, whilst watching something else on the TV, or watching a recording from the PVR. Much better value IMO.0 -
If you are only looking to record the odd programme/film USB drives are dirt cheap now eg http://www.ebuyer.com/543100-toshiba-transmemory-16gb-white-usb-2-0-flash-drive-thnu16haywht-6 -plenty of room for several hours recording0

Might have changed, but my LG tv I bought earlier this year specifies a 40gb or larger HDD - I've used a 2.5" laptop drive in a cheap usb caddy.
Mine will read media (in the right format) from usb memory sticks, but doesn't recognise them for recording to0
