    Hello all,
Special 'hello' to all poorly & stressed people today.
Pleasant morning. Here are today's small money saving things:
*Laundry overnight on cheap tariff. Now on heated airer as wazzing down outside.
*Chucked a cup of vinegar into washing machine & ran a 95 degree cycle to give it a bit of a service. A few marks had started appearing on black clothes & the drum seemed a bit whiffy, so decided to take action before it sludged up even more.
*Worked some more on my festive planning lists.
*Made a cranberry & orange cake for a Christmas gift. Was just about to scoff the leftover almonds when I realised there were probably enough for mincemeat-making later this week, so that's one less thing to buy.
*Jacket potato night tonight - so cheap & good for using up oddments of batch cooking from freezer. Have defrosted smoky ham hock & boston baked beans for mr f & I'm going to make some apple coleslaw & have that with cottage cheese on mine with a big salad to use up more of our home grown lettuce before the frosts arrive.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water. Really encouraged by energy account being so much in credit. Must carry on with my little bits of energy-saving as they clearly add up.
*Did a few surveys - only need 15 points before another cash-in reached on Ipsos I-say.
*Was astounded to discover I'd sold another ebay re-listing. I just think I'll give up with the last few of those craft mags & then I seem to sell another one. Only £1-50 a time on these ones, but it all adds up. It will be wrapped in recycled materials from my wrappings stash.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Think about what I need to do in town tomorrow when I shall have wheels! Whoooo! Make list & remember to take any vouchers I may be able to use.
*More present-knitting this afternoon. Have put front, back & one sleeve of jumper aside in order to knit a pair of pretty socks I need to wrap & deliver for a bday gift early Dec, so I need to get clacking. Yarn is sooooooo nice, it's one of the self-patterning ones, but instead of stripes, etc, it's knitting up like sort of Nordic-style fair-isle patterns. I could fancy a pair of those for myself!
*No heating on downstairs. Not cold enough. Have warm cardi on & have been in kitchen with oven on for cake, so that's saving some gas too.
OK, I think that's my lot for today. My goal for this week was to progress festive prep/plans & that is defo happening, so I shall wish everyone a nice day & crack on.

    More money saving:
Cake has come out lovely. Just fed it with Mr A's cointreau substitute.
Energy company has just phoned to apologise for non-response to my complaints & offered my £25 goodwill gesture, whuch did indeed generate a bit of goodwill.
Am drinking free chai latte sample. It is really horrible so I'll be saving money by never buying it.
    Have entered a competition.
    Knitting time at last

yep, I was last there in February. It was fairly cool then (although, still warm enough to sit outside with a cardi on!). The south is STIFLINGLY hot though!

I've been to several places on the island, Las Americas and Los Cristianos in the south, Santa Cruz, Las Caletillas, Puerto de la Cruz and Tacoronte in the north. I also spent two weeks up Teide whilst at university! If you go back, Puerto is definitely worth a look. I really liked it. It was fairly touristy but kind laid back.

ps: I'm also on MFP if you want to add me as a friend. Same username.

    Afternoon all,

    :coffee:

I just got up. Long nightshift last night. Work is very busy; last night I had 360 staff under my wing. Subsequently slept all day, catching up for the rest of the week when I've slept little. Battling a wee virus still, too.

    Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 6:

    *
    No Spend Day.

    * Take my left over lunch to work with me.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Hi everyone, thanks for starting Ziggy

Just a quick check in from me - I'm poorly today so off work (which I don't think they were happy about but I can't even get out the front door!). Rang doctors and they gave me a prescription that OH went to get for me. So a NSD other than £8.20 for that.
Being off work means I'm not able to do my overtime so I hope I'm better soon! On the plus side I have no appetite so that's saving food :p

    Have a great evening everyone

Yeah we went down to Costa Adeje to Siam Park and it was really hot, hubby got badly burnt with factor 50 on! (think it was because he was in and out the water all day though)
I wanted to go to the Teide but we wanted a couple of chill days too, hopefully we will go back again because we both loved it :) if I do will check Puerto out :D

Thank you!! Will add you tonight when I get home :D my username is something like claireyvonneross93 (I think lol) just so you know when I add you :)

Princess - hope you feel better soon!! xx
