Tuesday 17th November - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

Morning
Thanks for the start Ziggy.
Clio- hope your daughter is feeling better today?
I added a little more to my wombling score yesterday with a £1.56 brand match. I am still amazed that I've managed to find over £700 this year in various guises. Anyone wanting to join in, I will be putting a new wombling thread up for 2016 shortly with challenger numbers etc.
We have an engineer coming out today to fix the heating. It's been off for a week. Hoping that will be straightforward.
First Utility winning in the weirdness stakes again. First I was billed for £90 based on my latest readings. Then last night they emailed me to say they owe me £90. I don't think so. Have tweeted them to find out the situation as the last thing I want is more of their silly antics of last year (refunded me £300 then said it was an error so I spent a year paying it back)
Despite the cold and windy weather I am feeling very cheerful today. Health visitor was very pleased with the baby yesterday so we are all set now till her first jabs in 3 weeks.
Anyway think that's me. Have good days everyone.

Morning all

Thanks for the start Ziggy.
Bob - I may join in wombling for next year. Will you let us know once you've started the challenge?
Another restless night for me. I always feel exhausted at the end of the day and then wake up half a dozen times during the night for various reasons. I woke up twice with nosebleeds last night (which is a sure sign of stress for me unfortunately) and feel tired today.
Ah well - still plenty to do.
check banking
petrol in the car
fix the hoover
all meals from stores
aim for nsd other than petrol
full day of teaching
mark a set of books
try not to lose my temper
I'm sure that hundreds of things will turn up over the course of the day but I'll leave it there for now.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all. Not organised at all today. I didn't have work food ready and got up late. I also forgot to pick up my purse again so I'll have to owe the lottery syndicate money. Owing money to people doesn't sit well wih me - I'm annoyed at myself.
So, today the following is planned..
- work breakfast, lunch, snacks and tea sorted
- boys lunches being made by Mr Shortie
- check online banking
- (if I have time) check out for Amazon pressies to buy with my voucher
Workwise I need to try and get some admin sorted - need to get my year end review updated, book a hotel and travel for a course next year (am assuming that the quicker I book the cheaper it is?), and officially book some 2016 holiday that I have had verbally approved
Yesterday I moved some money around and managed to put some back in savings. I started saving recently and I only had a small amount saved which I then needed... I want to get an amount of savings in place before I look to try and pay extra off my loanApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
Morning all

Thanks for the start Ziggy
Hope you have a less stressful day than yesterday, CCL
Bob, haven't you dumped FU yet?
List for today:
Reduced croissants from Lidl for breakfast - special treat as very fattening (I didn't have butter with mine though :A)
Check banks
Dog walks x 2
Market for fruit and veg, pick up some fish fingers from Iceland for GD's lunch tomorrow. Fish fingers and broccoli with tomato ketchup are her current favourites apparently :rotfl: Also need rice cakes (useful for thickening soups as well as snacks)
Pop into sales unit to see if anything has sold (I wouldn't bother, but it is right next door to the market site)
Sort out spare room / beds
General tidy round, get OH to help with both of these!
Any surveys, FPL, postal survey tasks etc
Decluttering - completely forgotten where I had got to with Mins totals
But I have identified a top already this morning; that can go to the CS, as there is nothing wrong with it, just too big for me!
HM meals from stores
Put away all the washing I did yesterday (and hung outside), which finished off drying overnight on the airer
Try and sort out the printer, which apparently has an 'error' I have a nasty feeling I am going to have to reinstall the software
If I succeed, finish printing out car insurance documents
More washing
Right, I had better get on with some of this
Hope everyone has a good day
