    Morning all,

Happy birthday Sistercas I hope you have a lovely day. It's also my Zulu Grandson Soldiers birthday today. He is 4. I was messaging my daughter at silly o'clock as neither of us could sleep. She was excited and dogs fidgeting woke me.

The plan is to go and see Mom this morning. That's if the rain holds off.

    Onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

LW I am another one who is dreading that awful disability denial test :( (((((Hugs)))))

JackieO I think that film was called Stone Pillow, I think it is on you tube, must look it up.

Grey and horrid here and quite a bit cooler, still trying to get last of the washing dry from yesterday, most of it dried on the line and I only have a few Tshirts left to dry completely, so not too bad.

Jobs today include phoning the diabetic clinic because my BG is rising even though I am on these new tablets, they did cut my insulin though so I might need to put the dose back up.
DH wants me to go to see the GP, I had another fall because my balance is off, but the spinal consultant told me that it would get worse and as I am waiting for another appointment with him I don't see the point of seeing the GP

We are going to Wickes when DH gets home we need a new loo for downstairs and I want to get some more compost and top soil so that DH can get the garden ready to overwinter, we also need some straw from our local greengrocer, he does huge bags of it quite cheaply. Once that is done and the fruit trees are banded up, the garden is done until spring, which reminds me that I must put an order with Real seeds.

Right, better get the kettle on his nibs will be home at any minute.

    BFN xx

  • Morning ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

    Happy birthday Sistercas.

Elona, I hope you hear soon about the bungalow, it seems a good choice for you, ground floor sleeping, but room upstairs for guests, best of both worlds. I would strongly advise you to get the removers to pack, its well worth the extra money. Getting family to help you unpack is also a great idea, especially if you have things that might have got packed that could really do to go on to another life somewhere else. I always try to go through things myself before the removers come, did not have a chance to really do this when we moved in June, so there were things got packed that were then moved on. Also try and unpack as soon as possible, if there is damage you usually have to report it to the removers within 7 days, read the contract when you get it and be sure you know the time scale. Also put it in writing, so you have a copy.

Time to put the kettle on OH will be back shortly, closely followed I suspect by DD2.
  • Good Morning everyone, although I hesitated over using the word good as the winds are beginning to pick up here and it's just started raining!!! still the sooner this storm hits, the sooner it passes!!!

Todays little gem of 'health' information on the BBC news this morning is that children who eat breakfast perform in tests better than children that don't, apparently they did a whole 24 hour study to come to that conclusion????? is it any wonder that we Joe Public take no notice of these warnings, 24 hours and it's put out as fact, I think not!

Just me today so I'm having a fish finger sandwich for lunch with some salad in it too ( I like fish fingers) and an easy supper of some sauted cooked potatoes, leek and bacon pieces and I made an apple cake tray bake yesterday so that will fill any gaps if they occur. Hope all of us stay safe and don't sustain any damage from the predicted bad weather, I'm going to wait and see how it is when the rain stops before deciding whether or not to walk Cookie this afternoon and I hope the power supply stays in, there is some chance of problems, stay safe everyone!

CANDLELIGHT yes I did find a few things but most of them are edibles, not sweeties but luxury nice things in jars that I know they'll like and DD2 and Zebra skyped this morning and she's said I can buy him some toys for Christmas too, she said she felt a real meanie saying he'd got enough YAY!!!! Oma rules OK???

    Good morning (just!) everyone.

Happy Birthday Sistercas hope you have a lovely day and get spoiled xx

A flying visit from me today as I'm due to leave to meet my friend in ten minutes. It's years since I've been to the art gallery where we're going so I'm looking forward to it.

Lunch will be out and about as we have vouchers for a half price meal in a lovely place in the Northern Quarter (very trendy these days but I remember it being Ancoats for anyone who knows Manchester!) and tea is corned beef pasties, mushy peas, mint sauce and gravy - yummy.

Jackie O - you are an inspiration to me and keep me positive about this widowhood lark. Enjoy Robert Redford and this evenings entertainment.

Have a good day everyone and keep warm and dry in the winds and rain.

Wanted to say 'happy birthday' to sistercas! Hope you really enjoy your day.

Had my haircut, bought Radio Times and was home by 10 o'clock.

This is my only 'free' day this week so I'm going to be lazing around, once I've dealt with the paperwork.

I also intend to give my stomach a rest and eat nothing more until tomorrow morning. All weekend it's been eating \ sitting - a bit of walking around the Docklands but nothing too much, so I will stop eating now until morning. Got tea \ coffee and plenty of water to keep me going.

Afternoon all, sorry seem to have lost half the day already.

Just back from the yard, let Bill have an hour out of his box and he made the most of the grass, have never noticed before how much he loves clover, literally makes little noises of contentment when he finds a patch, bless him.
It's getting very dark at home and the rain is starting to come down, nothing for it but stay in and keep warm, it's a hard life. Think we will have cheese on toast for lunch, got some RTC lamb out of the freezer so will have that later, maybe with some med veg couscous.
    Stay safe everyone x
