Anyone know about 'Manorial Rights'

Is that posible? Surely the LR have standard forms of words to record specific circumstances relating to a Title?
Otherwise a solicitor, or presumably a property owner, could record any old gobbledegook against a Title and the Register would rapidly become a nonsence......
Or maybe you're right.0 -
G_M - sorry you found the post unhelpful. Obviously that was not our intention. Hopefully the following may help to clarify things a little (although not entirely)
The OP referred to the changes in 2013 but the thread has changed the goalposts a little as the focus is now on a register entry.
The guidance we linked to covers Historical Rights as they stand and our blog article refers to the changes from 2013
Moving on through the thread agrinnall is quite right that it is a legal interpretation that is required here. As you will appreciate we will register deeds/documents affecting a title and the interests they refer to. When registering such details we will either extract the relevant detail and add it to the register or file and refer to the relevant deed.
In this example the OP has shared an extract only and it is important to read the entry as a whole as you also appreciate.
The OP should ask the solicitor to clarify the meaning and also explain the purpose of the indemnity insurance being sought, namely does it indeed relate to the current register entry or the possibility of a future claim relevant to somehting not recorded on the register?
Having read numerous threads regarding indemnity insurance it seems that such policies are quite common for a variety of circumstances. The solicitor should be able to explain why one is considered necessary here as a result.
If the OP would like to post the whole extract it may help to understand the entry better as well although it is legal wording and not our own. Hence the use of wording such as '(if any)', which can simply leave things very open as a result“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Land Registry. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Thanks for the more indepth response!'all chief quit and other rents or any manorial incidents (if any) remaining extinguished and all easements affecting the same.'
* quote the wording in full
* check whether this has been extracted by the LR from some other document (eg "a transfer dated xxxx between John & Mary") & obtain that document
I note you are "paying a conveyancer to do the paperwork" - so that is who should be helping you. Pop in to their office and have a chat to get an explanation.
Or are you using a cheap online conveyancing warehouse where
a) the work is mostly done by unqualified admin staff and
b) access is online/phone only, and slow
??
You get what you pay for!0
