Retire - LGPS - Work on bithday or not?

The confirmation was from the person who administers the LGPS at the council and deals with this kind of request all the time, that's good enough for me.
It would not be good enough for me - not when I can resolve the issue within my own control by either booking a days holiday or going into work for the extra day.
There is no leeway in this - it has to be 85 or naught. The risk of a reduction versus booking a days holiday or going in for the extra day does not even come close to being sensible.
I'm not sure why it is an issue.
In such a situation where there is any bit of doubt that could lead to a significant issue but could be removed easily by either going to work on the birthday or booking the last day as a days leave.
I can't see why you would not do either of those options and thus remove any possibility of it becoming an issue at a later date.
If you can't book a days leave due to employers policy's etc then just turn in for the last day.
If this is a legitimate query in the first place that is ...0 -
            Agreed.
And, of course, you get an extra day's service in the pension entitlement as well as being paid for it.
I simply cannot understand why we are having this discussion but I suppose it is local government!0
