Zuto where Car Loans 4U Ltd until May 2015, no idea how they can be the the "number one online car finance speacialist" in only a few months.

OP, do you work for Zuto by chance?

Nor had I, so good marketing. I still wouldnt sell my own car in this way.
  • Thanks for the help everyone - I'm going to let the buyer know I'm not happy to proceed this way.

I think I'll loose the sale, but better than loosing a ton of money!

    Appreciate all your advice.

They dont need a statement to show your bank details, just your sort code and account number.

A copy of the V5C, no problem but i would blank out all the numbers to prevent anyone ordering a replacement one.

Copy of my licence, tell them you don't have one which is why your selling the car. You bought it to learn to drive and didnt bother.

Normally when you buy a secondhand car you need to have funds pre-arranged/cash. Zuto are just exploiting another niche in providing finance for cars bought in a private sale.

Can anyone think of a reason why Zuto can't pay him the money and he pays me via bank transfer?

Because then the buyer has the money from Zuto, and no car.

If the loan is intended to be secured on that car, that's a problem for them.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I don't see the issue. Provided the OP gets the money in his account and all the paperwork is in order, before releasing the car if the buyer doesn't pay his loan, that's Zuto's problem, not his.

Can't believe people have missed the annoying ad where the guys gets crowned King of XXXX car sales. I'm hardly ever in the UK and I have caught that one...

Never trust any company that has "4U" in it's name.
