It works for me, and has done ever since my BoS accounts were opened nearly 3 years ago. I've not had to separately register at BoS.
I can't login to BoS using HBOS details.

My Halifax login doesn't work for BOS login. They did send me login information for BOS. Probably because I requested it, can't remember now.

Did you apply from within your online banking area whilst logged in?

Is that the favourable way to apply for subsequent accounts or the opposite?

I have no idea, but thought it might help the OP try a different approach?

I was on my phone when I posted earlier, but checked again just now on the laptop with the same result. The only differences appear to be:

    1. The account order is reversed, ie BoS accounts are listed before Halifax accounts, and

    2. The BoS layout is slightly different from Halifax (they've probably revamped it, with Halifax to follow?)

I know sometimes they'll reject you just for being unprophetable

I have now managed to log in to BoS. It was different details to Halifax, but now changed to be the same.

I'm debating whether to apply again from logged in. I think most likely it will fail again and put another mark on my credit report compounding the problem. :(

I may have to chuck it in the mortgage instead.

I'd reconsider having the same details for both banks. If ever your details were compromised in any way the then two respective parts of BoS would know that you used the same details. Even though both sets of accounts are displayed when you login in they may try and shirk their responsibility to you if they concluded that you had identical login details.
  • I have just had a situation like this.

I was only getting accepted for a BoS Cash Account online. When I phoned up the guy spoke to the department that approves the accounts and they were able to override the system, as they could see no reason why I was not allowed another Vantage account.

It was suggested that it might be because I have so many accounts with Lloyds Banking Group. If anyone has issues, give them a call.
