Try to run in Compatibility Mode: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/bf416877-c83f-4476-a3da-8ec98dcf5f101033.mspx0

I tried running it in Compatability Mode in Vista but it still kept crashing when transferring music so had to resort to XP. OK if you've got another PC with XP but extremely limiting if you haven't.
Are you sure you've installed it correctly? Have you also downloaded the 'fix' file as well?0 -
I had crashes with voidMP3FM using Vista as well, but XP is fine, as has been stated.
What I have found with Vista is if i transfer 1-2 songs at a time to a folder on the Sony its fine, no crashes. Its when i try to transfer a whole album or more at once I seem to have problems.
Not an ideal solution, but I hope this helps.0 -
I have had Sonic stage on my computer for years. My old computer the only way to transfer music to the player was when i was not on line. if i transfered music while i was on line the computer would just go to the blue screen. My new computer is ok ,works perfect with sonic stage.
So maybe you should try transferring your music off line when no other program are running in the background .
I have not tried using that Void program cause i cant find out if you still get 500 songs on the player. Sonic Stage conversion program allows you to put 500 songs on,but using Void and drag and drop i cant see how the player would hold 500 songs that way .
If Void does let you put 500 songs on i rather use that program .0 -

Try using the Sonicstage software (you'll need to download version 4.3 free from the sony support website) http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/WM/NWF/NWF.asp?l=en&m=NW-E005
as there's a compatibility problem with Vista and some software. Had a similar problem with a NW-E005 (bought recently, thanks ScoOter) and also a NW-S705F, but it seems sorted now.
Hope this helps (Sonicstage not as bad as some posts suggest).0 -
I am running Vista Ultimate. I initially downloaded the latest SonicStage 4.3 from the sony website, but that failed to install correctly - cannot remember the exact error codes, but a quick Google showed many others with similar problems !!
So i then cleared out the failed 4.3 install, then downloaded and installed the latest firmware 2.01 for the sony nw-e005 - mine was supplied with 1.01 firmware. Then installed SonicStage 3.4 using the supplied CD and all was OK. I then re-downloaded version 4.3 again and re-installed without removing v3.4 (it does this itself). All went OK. So now running SonicStage 4.3 on Vista with NW-E005 (firmware 2.01).
So, it does work, but is a pain in the a**e to setup !!0 -
Just to say thank you guys for the help so far :T !!!!
I really do want to have a drag n drop programme, if i can,I know may not be able to do this!!
I have tried the suggestions of the compatibilty mode, did not help.
SonicStage I just dont know my way around the software, am relatively new to computers.
Derek does it take long to transfer music with SonicStage once you have got used to it?
Also how the heck do I do this process?
Do not have another computer with XP, just this one with Vista, so have had to make it work.
Then tried to to do a couple of songs at a time rather than whole albums, this has allowed me to transfer some songs now whoopee!!!!!
But this is a pain!!!
Once again THANKS I couldnt have done it without you guys!! :money:

A M3U file is a playlist file that contains a list of MP3 files to play in a certain order.0
