So the transactions, although dated for Monday, are already showing-up on Saturday. The majority of banks process Monday's transactions Sunday night, Monday morning.
I believe, the early processing banks are stopping that practice and fall in line with the other banks. If Barclays was one of the early processors (I don't know, I don't bank with them) it is possible that the change from the old to the new schedule has taken place just this weekend.
Correct, Barclays have stopped this practice, there was a thread over in the Banking and Budgeting section but I can't find it.0 -

10pence when did Barclays stop doing Monday's payments clearing on a Saturday. I had my ESA paid in on the Saturday last weekend and I'm with Barclays, if it has changed its been in the last week.0

Just out of interest - I bank with Barclays and my DWP and Council payments have always shown up on the Saturday rather than the Monday following.
I have just checked ( touch of insomnia) and Monday's payment is there, so if Barclays have changed it is not all accounts0 -
My friend works there and stated they are in the process of changing it; seems it's affected some and not others.
RBS (I think) was another bank that use to clear payments early and have or will be stopping it too - it caused issues as they would clear incoming payments early but not outgoing payments such as direct debits early.0 -
Natwest do too.Moving on up
