I want to download Irfanview 32 bit from a safe site.

Out of curiosity I downloaded the 64-bit (4.40) version and it won't install on a Windows 10 32-bit platform, despite what IrfanView's wesite suggests - I have version 4.38 on that and it's fine.
I suppose you would have to download the 32-bit version from elsewhere, such as softonic...
You really are confused aren't you! Perhaps you should not be giving advice on this topic.
The website does not state that the 64 bit version will run on a 32 bit system.
This is what it actually says:
Advantages of IrfanView 32-bit over 64-bit version:
* Runs on a 32-bit and 64-bit Windows
* Loads all files/images for normal needs (max. RAM size is about 1.3 GB)
* Needs less disc space
* All PlugIns will work: not all PlugIns are ported (yet) to 64-bit (like OCR) and some 32-bit PlugIns must be still used in the 64-bit version, some with limitations (see the Plugins32" folder)
* The Unicode and many Adobe 8BF PlugIns can't work on 64-bit
* The TWAIN drivers with 64-bit support are rare
This is the 32 bit version!0 -
OK, I misread the site:o, but I, like the OP, tend to lean towards CNET for downloads, as you know what you're getting, and that doesn't offer the 32-bit version.

I have managed to do what I wanted.
I downloaded the irfanview and ccleaner installation files to another laptop and transfered them via pen drive. The 64 bit from irfanview did not work but the 32 bit from Softronic did.
Thanks again for all your comments.

I would think twice about downloading anything from either CNET or Softonic.
