Reading it, I noticed this.....for eg, 150,000 Avios on two Club World peak day tickets to San Francisco. ................
So at 1.5 Avios per £1 would you have to spend £100,000 to get a flight to San Francisco?
(Or are off peak flights a lot cheaper?)
Dave, I burn about £250K Avios a year on flights, do you really think I have anywhere near £167K to spend

Ah, it wasnt for me, but the person I had in mind does spend between £1200 and £2000 a week ( ) in morribobs, so thought it might be a good way for them to get hols. They wont bother with any other way of getting points apart from using the card.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

135,000 off peak, I think.
People collect Avios in all different ways: credit card spends, flying One World airlines, Tesco clubcard deals.....I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I got a tub of Quality Street at £5 plus 2 choc oranges and After 8 in the three for £5 - net cost after credit £5. They also had Pringles at 2 for £2, so may pop back tomorrow with a different card to get 10 of those.
