Just makes a person wonder, though, as presumably T's system has not matched any Activia for any shoppers today.
The main consumer advantage of BG is that it is meant to be automatic at the till. Bit of a nuisance if it has to be checked and chased up afterwards.
I think, indeed, it would not have done - and it may be relevant for anyone outside Northern Ireland because, depending on the rest of what they bought - if they didn't buy much at T that came out cheaper than M and thus lost what would have been the difference - they may have paid more. However, how likely is it that normal shoppers would buy the Activia Intenselys with T's full price showing on the shelving? It's possible, though, if someone thought the 2 for £4 was good.
It always has be checked and chased up I'm afraid - they certainly won't/can't give you the price you should have paid if you don't - as we can never have confidence that their systems will pick up pricing correctly and it seems we can't believe when they claim they we won't ever "pay more". The thing is that that reassures most people and they don't bother checking and, I reckon, don't ever discover that they paid more. It is a nuisance - but, if it's a nuisance, that's part of your complaint - to be added to it - and it deserves extra compensation for that inconvenience. Indeed, we/you should not be having to check and chase them when they assert that we'll never pay more for our branded shops.
Everything nowadays is merely a claim, an assertion or an allegation rather than an absolute truth. They ought to be able to keep their word and we ought to believe it is true. I can never believe anyone when they allege that we won't pay more and therefore completely do not trust anything anyone ever asserts and do not expect it to turn to be true until it is proven to be so.
As for your shop, it seems you did pay more. And, even if they give compensation or any GC or any refund or anything else, it will remain the case that you had paid more on that shop and that truth can now never be rectified. Even if you get compensated - and I hope you do and I hope you pursue this as it's unacceptable for you to have paid more on that branded shop when they claim that you will never do so - it will always remain the case that you paid more on that shop. They may give you a GC. But you still paid more on the shop and then they gave you a GC. That doesn't alter the fact that, in what is now the past, you paid more - and, therefore, in respect of your shop, it seems to me that the claim that "you'll never pay more" was untruthful and will always remain untruthful (in respect of that shop now in the past). You paid more (it seems). They can refund the entire shopping. You still paid more. That happening in the past will always have occurred and cannot be erased from having happened. You paid more (it appears). "You'll never pay more". You did pay more: it's untrue in respect of your shop (if the circumstances are indeed as you have reported them to be on here). Whether or not consumers' shops generally result in them paying more or not and that's what would be looked at in the light of whether the claim is generally true rather than an individual case it which it turned out, it is to be supposed, not to be true.0 -

That's the 'trouble' with having regular numbers that you then come to remember - have to keep putting them on in case they ever come up. Anyway, so we get a lucky dip and you get none, na na na na na!:p:rotfl::rotfl:
I had to check, as I have 10, 11.
I wish I didnt know my numbers, I stopped putting on the lines that I didnt know the numbers to.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I have just thought. But we're two quid down:( and will always remain two quid down (if the lucky dip now doesn't win and doesn't give rise to any further lucky dip that doesn't win or doesn't give rise to...etc.). So we may as well be in the same position as if we'd bought no ticket at all today but just bought a supposedly "lucky" dip at full price next time. Whereas dm has saved all the £2 money:rotfl::T:rotfl:.
To me, "lucky" dips are unlucky dips, unless they win some money. So, unless the allegedly "lucky" dip (see - I can't even believe that:eek:) we'll now get ever leads to us winning some money, it will have been, in my view, an unlucky dip and not a lucky one at all!:rotfl:
I guess it just wouldn't attract people or sell much in the way of paid-for dips if they called them "largely unlucky dips" though:doh:.0 -
Last year I did a PGCE to train as a teacher.
I got my first exposure to secondary schools for 35 years.
I was shocked by how bad most comprehensives are. Truly awful.
Luckily I was placed in a Grammar School for 3 months. Absolute excellence.
Motivated me to get our kids into Grammar Schools, which we have achieved.
I often have contact with schools, some I go to are  and some are :T - often due to different criteria (not just academic).
90% of the reason that we picked the schools for our children was academic, the other 10% was that they looked at the whole child/was extremely strict. None are perfect, but I do have the utmost respect for teachers. :T:T100 -

My eldest was not grammar material, a shy and nervous type who didn't perform well under pressure so I couldn't contemplate the 11+ but horses for courses and all that.
She went to a really good secondary school (unfortunately we don't have comprehensives, just grammars and secondaries here) and did well but didn't want to go to uni.
The others followed suit and have all made their way, the first two with their own businesses and the second two with satisfying life balances.
At the end of the day we all want that balance and it shouldn't be forgotten xxx0 -

They are grammar schools, some counties retain them.
Regardless of whether you like the concept of Elitism in education, when it comes to your own kids, we all naturally want to do the best for them.
I went to a brilliant grammar school in Bucks; 2 of my siblings went to the local secondary modern sink school. It's not a perfect system.
DS1 went to a grammar school that is generally the top selective boys grammar in the country. Had to cross county boundary to get to it, but only a 15 minute bus ride away. Not one that either of you have mentioned. Wouldn't have been the right school for DS2.
DS2 developed much later. They both ended up at the same uni doing very similar courses. DS1 did a masters and DS2 doing one now. I agree education is too important to get wrong.
So harryhfp, how do you earn 50k and put 40k into a pension...
