Go on go on
Has LFAB been about recently ? :cool:One cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0 -
Yes. But not so exciting. We have one account with a primary card and a secondary. They each have separate logins. Primary account holder can see all transactions, secondary account holder only sees their own transactions.
Are you saying that superdrug will split a transaction across 2 cards? I never thought to ask.
I'm assuming they'll do exactly that if I buy 2 x £25 items, I might of course be wrong.
Reminder to self - don't be arsy lol
As I was arsy to a poor girl today, she didn't deserve it, I might go in and apologize.
I was waiting for my daughter's prescription.
My turn arrives so I say the name for yesterday's order. Fine, she goes to get it - but it needs checking by the pharmacist.
In the meantime, the pharmacist is dealing with some old biddy (who was after me in the queue) whose prescription has not been processed by the surgery therefore not available for pick-up.
Pharmacist explains the pharmacy has delivered the repeat prescription to the surgery, now in the surgery's hands, sorry about the delay, should we chase it up tomorrow?.
Old biddy: this happened last time.
Pharmacist: what would you like us to do?
Pharmacist explains the whole situation again whilst I am waiting for my prescription check.
This goes on for about another 10 mins whilst the old biddy clearly thinks the pharmacy is at fault (wrongly).
Back & forth, back & forth, they're saying exactly the same thing, multiple times.
Eventually I interject, politely, 'Excuse me ladies, I need to pick my son up from school'.
Of course I get the brush off from the pharmacist but time is ticking on.
Eventually I get there, I'm late & slightly stressed at arriving late @ school, she says sorry - but I can't resist saying, I think you could have dismissed people like that a bit more quickly.
I get a look from a nice person I have offended.
I leave, chagrin. Deserved, I guess.0 -
I like some of the high-priced mbuys in A, as even if they fall for them (on wombles), it still quite likely means a nice contribution to a more likely APG back!
Robinsons Double Concentrate Apple & Blackcurrant No Added Sugar (1.25L)
£2.98 any 2 for £4.00
23.8p / 16p / 100ml
[Strike]£2.96[/Strike]
£1.00
KP Hula Hoops - Original (7x24g)
£1.75 any 2 for £3.00 £1.04 / 89.3p / 100g
[Strike]£1.75[/Strike]
73p
Lucozade Energy Orange (6x380ml)
£3.80 any 2 for £6.00 16.7p / 13.2p / 100ml
[Strike]£3.70[/Strike]
£2.00
Believe me, there are muggles, including some of my family, that like Lucozade at 2 for £6 and don't think that it goes on £2 offers. (I can only post this bit as I am fairly anonymous!) The mbuys are quite good at getting people to buy more and will still probably make a good contribution to an APG.
There's no point wondering whether A stock the Pink Lemonade version of the 6-pack Lucozade because, even if they did, it would work out less APG if that was a non-appearing item than it would comparing two from mbuy pricing against 2x£2.00 M. It doesn't seem that A stock it but, if someone can find it on a.com, then it would also be comparable against M at £2. If it's not on a.com though, don't buy it - it will just lose you money. It is comparable, if it is a.com somewhere and if it appears on a comp., as M do have this version of the product; however as to whether it actually will compare or not...
I also quite like the 3 for £3 Bisto frozen meals 'deal'. They don't always buy the mbuy but instead perhaps half the time the shopper misses it and buys at £1.18. I've had that come good for me on a couple of occasions, one of them partially as they possibly bought a wrong one.
The other usually good ones are when people buy the Dolmio pasta sauces on 2 for £3 mbuy. They usually can be quite good, as there is very often at least one place elsewhere at which they are on £1 offer. Just as long as they don't put too much that is much cheaper in A than whichever place(s) it is though!
The one I don't like:(, as regards vs M, is the Birds Eye Grills 2 for £2 offer, as M have put I think all of theirs up to £1.60-odd pricing now!:( Even when they were £1 on some, invariably the shopper would mix and match and pick up one that was still full price in M! And, as mentioned earlier, it's no saving at all really (neither is the Bisto's offer:rotfl:) as one or other of BE Grills has regularly been at straight £1 price in A in the past.
Not fond of Batchelor's soups vs M either. Or pickings-up of £2 prices on Pringles or high mbuy prices in M (even though that's usually a mitigation compared to picking up one at now high full individual price). I don't like 5 for £2 Mullers in A either - they don't buy ten and, even if they did, they wouldn't pick up M's 10 for £3 as far as I see but would compare, worst, £4 vs £6.80! Neither do I like those £2 Seriously Strong cheeses that are right up at £4 in M! £2 350g cheese is, to my mind, always a bad idea buying in A (I can't think of a situation when it really wouldn't be). (It's obviously one of the ones they buy the most:rotfl::rotfl: - most people seem to have very bad ideas most of the time!)0 -
