  • I got my daughter a bt mobile sim a few weeks ago for her partner.
It was £5.00 per month ,not much data but he has free wi fi at home and at work and he assured me that it would be enough.
She has just had a bill for £94.00 and she is livid , it is all for extra mobile data, £43.00 for 1 day alone.
I have been on live chat for her and got nowhere, they said it is for applications running in the background lol , but they have given me a number to ring.
Have I got any chance to get this cancelled ?

The first month my DS had a cheapy mobile phone contract I had the same nasty surprise with a bill for far far more than the expected monthly payment. Also because of apps running in the background.

It is unlikely that you will be able to get the contract cancelled. However, he should go into his settings and turn off his mobile data. That way the phone will only use wi-fi when it is available. It is no good just turning off the apps, as I have found some tend to turn themselves back on in the background!

I don't know about getting it cancelled. But when I got my Tesco mobile, they asked me did I want to put a cap on monthly data usage, so I put a very very low one (£12.50) on mine, just so that I couldn't get carried away unawares. Might be worth asking regarding that.

  • And good morning to all!

After another night of 40mph winds, I am delighted that today is calm, with hardly a breeze. And there's some sun up there, tucked in between the clouds. Hope it shines wherever you are too. x

    Morning all
Haven't been around for a few days as have had the lurgy.
I am also getting the same message from Barilla and I haven't even printed any yet. So maybe, I just missed the boat and all available ones have been taken.
Went into Mr Ts yesterday and found that my clubcard had been blocked from scan and shop because of my use of internet coupons. Apparently, (although this is definitely not the case) I have been photocopying them! It springs from the Um Bongo mocs. It is months since I used one, but there you are, so be careful people. I was silly enough to use my cc with them. I haven't got time to read back as expecting visitors later so I
hope everybody is well and hugs to those that have illnesses or problems. Maz x

I meant get the charges cancelled, she has set a cap now and he has turned off mobile data.
He says he doesn't use it when out but I think he does , it is always glued to his ear , I am on the phone to them now but it is not looking good.
He has been charged for days when he hasn't left the house though and he has free wifi at home.
