I bought some restaraunt giftcards in T today, using the 100CC point coupons.

Gave the SA more coupons than giftcards and although he happily tried to scan them, only the correct amount went through.

Henlans - did you use SS or can GCs only be bought at a manned till ?

By the way - ALWAYS check that you have the right amount of successful Activation slips before you leave, as it is too easy for problems to crop up with an SA that is not good with the process of selling gift cards.

I may get ridiculed for this from the usual suspects and I expect it.

I'm accompanying a woman who works for a major supermarket next week to a disciplinary hearing. She's been put on a disciplinary for accepting vouchers she shouldn't have. I won't say which supermarket or what vouchers as you all know where I live and I wouldn't like to identify her.

you might describe her as a muppet. I know her as a woman who's terrified of losing her job and is doing it because she's trying to keep her family afloat because her husband is unable to work at the moment. Just be aware that supermarkets are putting this stuff on innocent members of staff and they are disciplining them for it.

I hope the 'muppets' you find aren't in the same boat. We all like a glitch but not at the expense of another person's livelihood.

I'd really love to see proof that you got 950 CC points from a £50 spend on GC BTW. Zippy asked and you blanked him. if you got it, then let's see it.

Well, although most of the major supermarket chains would 'deny' it happens - most will STILL allow customers to mis-redeem coupons (ie scan them for items you haven't bought or scan more coupons than products you've bought).

The easisest by a mile is Sainsburys, - followed by Waitrose, Tesco, Asda - though Morrisons are quite strict.

I have lost count of the number of times when - if a cashier calls a supervisor / team leader - they say 'just see if it scans' or 'if it scans take it' - AND I am talking about £1,000' s of £'s this year alone. And, I could prove it!!!

    Evening all,
Thnaks OP for the information on the dairy yesterday, went into my local today and the SA tried every trick in the book not to accept my £3 diary voucher, I had the mini cheeses and first she said that I had to buy what was on the coupon, even my 9 year old daughters giggled at her, I said no it's any dairy products, so then she said I hadn't spent £12 but clearly had, as I had 6 X mini cheeses.
Makes me laugh, always on the defensive with us using their own coupons!!

My grandpa was a jelly-man down the mines. His hearing was dodgy (no surprises) but I was puzzled about why he needed us to stand on one side when we spoke to him.
He'd developed headaches and they needed to remove an eye to stop them -there would be a pension. So he had a glass eye.

When that didn't work they said they'd remove the other eye and give him a much bigger pension. He said he'd stop right there. Don't blame him.

The 'official' elf is super creepy (and expensive) I want a different one. Never watch horror films so that's not a problem
